    Regarding the purple 5

It is quite fitting that the United States Mint has decided to make our traditional green backs multicolored. The monochromatic US dollar of old used to be a strong currency now the only thing holding it up is our good friend and trade partner China. The new five dollar bill, like the value of the bill, represents a new relationship (for better or worse) between America and the rest of the world. America has jointed the likes of Canada http://www.buccaneerinn.com/images/10bill.gif and Australia http://www.guardianfx.com/banknotes/australasia/AUD%205F.jpg who both have purple notes and, have almost equaled as in the case of Australia or in the case of Canada whose currency used to be a joke to Americans, have surpassed the dollar in value.
