today an awesome batman thing happened to my friend nicely. here she is to tell you:

OMGGGGGGGGGGG! So today was the best day ever! I’m fairly nerdy when it comes to keeping up on the movie news, especially movies that I’m uber pumped about. At the top of the “Nicely is uber pumped about this movie” list: The Dark Knight, the 2nd installment of awesomeness in the Christopher Nolan franchise. So needless to say since summer 06 when they announced Heath Ledger was going to play Joker I’ve been on this jam like white on rice. This was totally taken to a new level last summer during ComicCon when all this viral madness starting blowing up. Anyways so I my favorite things include the following: the interwebs, movies, advertising, movies, superheroes, movies, and bowling. And wow today included ALL of these things.

So enough exciting lead in — Today - April Fools Day, obviously stuff was going to go down in Jokerdom. Last week the a new issue of Gotham Times went up and (skim internet, skip details) lead people to a new viral site clowntravelagency.com. On the site was an suitcase with worldly travel stickers and a envelope reading something to the extent of departing 4-01.

So of course I lurked on the site last night - no bones, and then this morning saw it was up and running with a list of cities and LOW AND BEHOLD - Midlothian, Virginia - code for shitty side of Richmond, Va. So I magically figured out (through logical thought and google maps) that the locations were Bowling Alleys, and I set out for King Pin Lanes, because I assumed it would be that locale bc the others listed had birds in the title and I thought - King Pin - penguin reference? and flew out the door. So I show up and the kind lady plays aloof and then informs me that I am the first - and she’s shocked because she “thought I’d be a guy” Now I could be offended by this, but instead I just feel awesome. Booya boys I beat your ass in comic/internet nerdom! And subsequently - clever theivery. So this is the sad part - I realize I need a combination (the other locations had addresses and combinations - released to the site as previously listed packages were found ). But then the lady - who as nice and awesome as she was - gets a phone call from someone who has the combo and she’s confused by the whole process and just puts me on the line. Of course then I just act official and ask him for the combo- BAM! info = mine.

So I go open the locker and there I am greeted by a shitty old bowling bag which I open to find : A Joker-colored ball, and an evidence envelope. Inside is a Joker’s Card, note in scraggled type, and a CELL PHONE and charger! OMG x10,000. So the note reads:

Nice work, clown. Now call the number on the ball immediately, from this phone and THIS PHONE ONLY. Don’t give this number to anyone else, or I’ll know.

Hopefully, your cohorts will be in the same league as you, because once all your points are racked up I’ll give you all something that will really bowl you over…

OMG! So of course then I went and hid in a group of old people trying to conceal my trickery and cleverness in case any other searching folks came by. I made the call and reached an automated line which informed me they knew who I was. Then cue jels who informed me via mobile that a stamp had been placed beside my location on the site. w00t!

So now I wait, to see if my Joker phone rings….

And now there’s a new step up, perhaps a little sewing instruction from a certain Lt. Gordon? I’d give you some more details but wouldn’t it be more fun to check it out yourself? Have fun kids!!
